About Me

My name is Catherine, and I am a survivor. I'm also a wife, step-mother, step-grandmother(!), and friend. With my amazing husband, I love to travel to new places and share new experiences. I enjoy reading about history, specifically strong women (like Anne Boleyn), shipwrecks, and castle ruins. My music tastes vary from classical to German industrial. I am happiest when I am near, on, or in the ocean. I love Christmas, perhaps because I was born in December or because I love how beautiful everything is at that time of year. I've survived several traumatic experiences in my life and always come out stronger.

About Him

His name was Michel. He was born in France in 1940 and made his life in the U.S. starting in the 60s. He was fascinated with aviation history and especially loved learning about WWII aircraft. He was the youngest licensed pilot in France for a brief period and enjoying flying small planes in his later years. His musical tastes ranged from classical to folk to country, and he enjoyed playing the harmonica. British motorcycles were a huge passion, and he enjoyed riding his own Triumph Bonneville. My dad was quiet and pensive but had a wicked sense of humor when the occasion called for it. He also suffered from depression. Overall, he led a life full of unique experiences and was deeply loved and admired.
